With two storey's and a basement, the Second Empire style home has a centre hall floor plan with back to back fireplaces on the main floor in the dining and living rooms. The east side of the home features four bay windows with decorative eaves, dentils on the east side and an ornamental bargeboard on the west.
Its most prominent architectural feature is the five-sided Scotch dormer which stands proudly in the mansard roof. This space has been converted into a private sitting area for guests with views of the valley, access to historical and touring books on Atlantic Canada along with internet access.
